' Truth vs Play '

- P.Natarajan.

‘A Play’ is not real. It can be fun or jest, as opposed to seriousness. For example :- ‘ I said it merely in play.’  A Play also is referred as an exercise or activity for amusement or recreation.

An activity can be of  fair play or foul play. In the theatre, a play means a drama or the role played by the actors. Play also means freedom movement within a space , as part of a mechanism. When the artist perform , we say, he played on the violin or on the musical instrument beautifully.

People expect something will happen for sure. But it does not happen, there is a slip between the lip and the cup. Then it  gets stamped as a mere dream or just a play.  The world is merely a dream or a maya. In sanskrit ‘ Ma Ya’ means ‘ That which is not Real’.

‘ A Play’ is only a game. It does not portray the truth. Children play with the dolls. Little dolls are dressed in the form of head of the family, mother, and as old grand father or granny. The children try to imitate the roles thus in the forms of the dolls - a mere act or acting.

Sometimes people play sport and hit at some ball without any specific goal or hit at the ball without any specific reason. In real life also we undertake or do some work which does not result in any tangible result. These acts can be named as useless or wastes where energy or money expended does not transform into beneficial deals . Is there an answer when a question is raised, “ Why people break their heads and move the Chess Coins in the Chess Board”?

People say a falsehood and enjoy the fun when the listener is shocked and get away laughingly in amusement saying ‘ april-fool’!    People thus play games. They don’t mean it but it endangers the other person. The game turns out to be fateful.  The fateful end becomes a fact or a history but the game played was not real or can be set aside as a mere sport.

It is necessary to distinguish between what is real and unreal. It is equally important to decipher the games people play and keep away where foul play is on. Knowledge is required to master these types of indulgence and march in life straight to accomplish the traits and goals we set towards the welfare of oneself and that of the society.
